Engineering News-Record (ENR) declared the restoration of Miami’s Freedom Tower as the best renovation/restoration project in the country. Announced in the February 11, 2013 edition of the magazine, the search for the “Best of the Best” started eight months earlier with competitions in nine regions. Out of nearly 1,000 nominations submitted, 19 projects rose as the most outstanding construction efforts completed in the U.S. and Puerto Rico between July 2011 and June 2012. Projects were judged on teamwork, success in overcoming challenges, innovation and quality.
