On Wednesday, Jan. 23, a group of eighth graders from Big Brothers Big Sisters visited the site where Kaufman Lynn Construction will build the future JM Family Enterprises headquarters.
The visit was part of the KL Cares program, an initiative that allows the company employees to get involved in their communities.
Just over a week later, HANDY students went on a very similar field trip — this time to Northwestern Regional Hospital site where DPR Construction gave them a tour and donated a $20,000 check to the nonprofit.
Both trips had an educational focus. The youth were given overviews of the construction projects and the chance to ask questions about the industry.
