Last Summer, Kaufman Lynn Construction assembled a team led by Related Urban Development, the affordable arm of Related Group, to answer a Request For Proposals by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to develop County land for Workforce Housing. Our team was subsequently selected to enter into negotiations with the County and our agreement was approved by the board December 12, 2017. Aside from being the named construction manager for the project, our team leads the assemblage of the response and presentation – proving to be a critical asset in the award of the project.
The upcoming 14-story midrise will be located on a 1.1 acre site at the northeast corner of North Andrews Avenue and Northeast 6th Street. It will include 168 apartments (150 of which will be affordable) with units ranging from 515 to 920 square feet, 232 parking spaces, and 4,000 square feet of retail/commercial.
While finalities are still in the works, the team is currently working with RUDG to develop a Preconstruction agreement and Fort Lauderdale site plan approval strategy.
