ANNOUNCES RENOVATIONS AND ADDITION TO MIAMI BEACH TEMPLE
 BOCA RATON, FL – Kaufman Lynn Inc., General Contractors was awarded a $6.0 million contract for the construction of Temple Beth Sholom, the largest and oldest reform synagogue on Miami Beach is currently underway.
Kaufman Lynn, Inc. is providing renovations, modification and new construction services for this original 1950’s synagogue. Construction commenced in March and estimated completion is expected August 2006. The project consists of 12,126 s.f demolition and 20,393 s.f of new construction. Design services are being provided by Zyscovich, Inc., a full service architectural firm located in Miami Beach.
The project includes demolition to a portion of the existing building currently housing clergy, administrative offices, assembly hall and main lobby. Replacing it is a new two-story chapel, clergy and administrative offices, youth center and welcome lobby. The new plan retains the existing sanctuary and squares it off in harmony with the school facade. A new "welcome center" for coffee, discussion, and lounging "floats" over an entry pond. Outside, the rear courtyard is elevated and overlooks the adjoining canal, and lush landscaping.
